MCX and Van der Linde Architecten build Apeldoorn's greenest building

IT management company MCX has been working from the most sustainable office building in Apeldoorn since late 2023. The ultra-modern building, designed by Van der Linde Architecten from Deventer, achieves a BREEAM 'Excellent' score and meets the highest sustainability requirements. The building has since grown into a recognizable icon on Deventerstraat.

Where sustainability and job satisfaction come together

A striking office building now stands on Deventerstraat, offering MCX a future-proof workplace. The green facades, large glass sections, natural materials, and spacious inner courtyard give the building a unique appearance. The design was enthusiastically received at the time by the municipality, the planning department, and local residents, not only because of the architecture but also because the building is the greenest office in Apeldoorn.

BREEAM

The office scores 'excellent' according to BREEAM-NL, an exceptional score in this region. This is due to efficient installations, sedum roofs, solar panels, the use of wood, and attention to sustainable mobility. Employees make use of ample bicycle facilities, showers, and a workspace within walking distance of the station. During the construction phase, the choice was made for electric equipment, minimal driving movements, and responsible waste management.

The investment in sustainability fits perfectly with MCX, says owner Johan van Veen. 'We always look ahead. Sustainability has played an important role in our business operations for years, from working from home to electric driving and inclusivity.' Construction in full swing

Just a few more weeks and then we will open our new office. Things are moving fast outside, but there is still plenty to do inside. The window frames are being installed and the green facades are also taking shape.

On the inside, the teams are working on the finishing work. The walls are up, everything is being prepared for wallpapering, and the glass walls and doors will follow soon. The technical installation is also largely in place.

People are working hard.

As of this week, the construction holiday is over, and that means work can resume in full swing on our new building. For although the exterior already looks quite finished, there is still plenty of work to be done on the inside.



The painters have rolled up their sleeves and are hard at work painting the walls and ceilings. The fixtures have been mounted on the ceilings and walls, determining the lighting arrangement.

It's almost time!

The new building was already beautiful, but it is becoming even more stunning! Now that the interior design is also increasingly taking shape, the employees of MCX are eager to get to work there.

And on Monday, October 3rd, the time has finally come! The first employees will take their seats at their new desks and start working in a sleek environment, enjoying the spacious office spaces and the fantastic view surrounded by greenery.
