Lekkerkerker chooses the convenience of service and maintenance at MCX.
Lekkerkerker specializes in the rental of road plates, dragline mats, ramps, and construction fences. The family business, originally a demolition company, has existed since 1905 and has been based in Rotterdam for many years. The company consists of 14 people in total, 7 of whom work in the office. The rest are in the field. For its daily operations, Lekkerkerker uses the Oracle E-Business Suite, with MCX providing the hosting and management.
From the guilder to the euro era
“We have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite for quite some time,” says current director Hans Stockmann. “When we switched from the guilder to the euro, our former ERP package could not handle this currency change. It was too much customization. That is why, at the end of 2003, we switched to a more generic system. That became Oracle.”
The choice for on remote
Lekkerkerker came into contact with MCX through Centric at the time. For a long time, MCX provided remote management. The hardware remained in Lekkerkerker's possession. But when the hardware became outdated and capacity problems worsened, the question arose whether they could outsource this part as well. Hans Stockmann: “The benefits of outsourcing, such as no longer having to worry about it and cost savings, were so appealing that we decided not to purchase any new hardware ourselves. Since then, Oracle E-Business Suite has been running in MCX’s Private Cloud. To this day, we enjoy the convenience of service and maintenance.”
Seamless collaboration
Hans Stockmann speaks very highly of the collaboration. “The transition to the Private Cloud went smoothly; the entire transition took only a few weeks. Also, if there are questions or problems, the guys at MCX are always ready to help, even outside office hours.” There have never been any major problems during the steady collaboration; everything runs very stably. “MCX is actually the kind of partner you only encounter when you have to pay the invoice,” jokes Hans Stockmann. “But in this case, that is a huge compliment. It simply means that everything works the way it should.”
