Mutual trust is the basis for optimal cooperation between MCX and Radboud UMC.
The collaboration between MCX and Radboud UMC dates back quite a few years. More than 10 years ago, the hospital switched from an outdated hospital information system to Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP package. MCX was immediately brought in for technical management. Since that time, the collaboration has developed into a close relationship of trust between both parties. “Everything stands or falls with trust,” says Wally Janssen, Team Leader Oracle EBS at Radboud UMC. “Ultimately, MCX helps us provide better care to the patient.”
Technical management of Oracle applications
When Radboud UMC decided to replace the old systems with the Oracle E-Business Suite, it was immediately clear that an external party was needed to assist with technical management. “We started the project in 2005. A year later, the Oracle systems and applications were live. Initially, we used them only for HRM and payroll. Later, finance, logistics, and procurement were added. At the time, hosting was handled by the joint Shared Service Center, which also included Radboud University.” MCX was responsible for remote management all this time, until a split occurred between Radboud UMC and Radboud University in 2011. For the sake of continuity, the hospital decided to also house the hardware in MCX’s data center.
